FLASHBACK IN HISTORY: PRISON IS NOT THE END
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s story reminds us that even in the darkest times, resilience and perseverance can lead to strength and victory.
In 1995, under the regime of General Sani Abacha, Obasanjo was imprisoned on trumped-up charges of coup plotting. He spent 3 years in prison before his release in 1998.
That experience did not break him instead, it prepared him for an even greater role as Nigeria’s President from 1999 to 2007.
Despite the challenges, his spirit remained unbroken. He later captured his prison experiences in his memoir, My Watch.
His journey proves that prison is not the end sometimes it’s the beginning of a greater purpose.
